Asante Sana to the many friends of the LCL.
Many have stepped forward to help make this important project a reality. From as far away as Hong Kong, individual donors have boxed up gently used and new books and sent them to the collection site in California to await shipment to the DRC. In addition, schools in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston have held book drives, using the occasion to teach American youth about their peers halfway around the world. In addition, the project has been buoyed by the incredible expertise of Cobo Construction and VIA Design Studio of Miami who have generously provided unique and magnificent architectural designs and renderings of what will become the LCL. Financial support has come from an array of individual’s, foundations, friends and family. The dynamic Moraga Rotary Club of Northern California has made the LCL one of its international priorities and has raised significant funds for the cause. Moraga Rotary is continually seeking ways to raise awareness of the LCL and to expand our fundraising base. Below is a list of some of the generous supporters of the LCL.
Over 10,000 books, in many languages, have been collected and are awaiting shipment to the DRC.
